Permalink Reply by Mia Fitz on August 9, 2011 at 12:15am I think this is a great discussion and I completely agree with you. I like that with books you can imagine the characters coming to life and you can create how you read the story. In movies they leave out good parts, don't go in to detail, and sometimes get the wrong actors to play certain characters!

Permalink Reply by Mia Fitz on August 26, 2011 at 5:21am Yes, I have to agree as well! Well it is not always the case but sure happens more than not. For me personally, Wuthering Heights, a classic novel written by Emily Bronte has had more than one film adaptation and I can't say they both beat the novel.

Permalink Reply by Jasmine Villa on February 1, 2012 at 4:52pm If I am going to watch a movie based on a book, I would rather watch the movie first, enjoy it, and THEN read the book. Otherwise, the literature student in me comes out and goes all GRRR/RAWR status when they change super important moments. If any of you are familiar with Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, what do you think of the new adapted novel turned to film, Seth Grahame-Greene's Pride and Prejudice and Zombies??? I like zombies, but is the parody a little too much?? What do you think?
Permalink Reply by Jasmine Villa on February 1, 2012 at 4:54pm I agree with you, Kailey! If they're going to change some things, why add the new parts that completely messes up the whole thing, seriously! I really like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and thought Tim Burton's did a fantastic job in following the novel, but then he added the whole dentist scene and ruined for me.

Permalink Reply by Ethel Tellez on February 13, 2012 at 11:32am I had this huge problem with Harry Potter when I was younger with the movies leaving out pretty important detail from the book in the movies but I kind of understand why they did it now it's pretty expensive to produce a movie. Although some of the detail would have added some more depth to the story the movies did well with out it. I haven't been able to force myself to watch the last movie since it signals the end of my childhood. ^_^ I've heard of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies I admit though that I'm not sure I would like it. I love all of Jane Austen's books but Pride and Prejudice was the first one I fell in love with I was never inclined to read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies because it's an adaption. Perhaps I could give it try but I would have to convice myself to do it.
