National Domestic Violence Awareness Month-Tays Club

The Tays girls talked about the difference between a healthy and unhealthy relationship and later they came up with some reasons that violence exists in the world today. Here is what they had to say! Sonia said, "In an unhealthy relationship, people are always fighting. They don't fight in a healthy one. Healthy relationships are when people are nice to each other, they help each other and have respect for each other. Abuse is an example of unhealthy habit."Alexandra says,"In a healthy…See More

Why is Photography important? Sandoval club

Posted on November 19, 2012 at 1:16pm 0 Comments

These girls really enjoyed the lesson on improving photography skills. A few weeks before, there were some girls who said they would like to be a photographer someday. They got the chance to improve on their skills and see what it would be like to put this dream into action. They also just had a good time and got the chance to work in groups.

Here is what they said about photography:

"me gusta las fotos de la familia, los perros, los gatos, y de bebes. Tambien me gusta sacar…

This week, the ladies learned some photography skills and put them to the test with some photojournalism and scavenger hunts! They had a great time! In their journals, they wrote about why photography is important and their experience, as well as what they learned in our workshop. Here is what they had to say:

"Photography is important for memories. Maybe you want to remember a moment: photography helps you to remember those. I learned that we need to put fill flash sometimes and full…

"If I were the President" By the Tays Club

Posted on November 12, 2012 at 12:31pm 1 Comment

At the Tays club this week, we only had two girls write, but they still had opinions about how they would change our country.

Zaraith says,

"I want to change this one thing: just when you go to college not to pay that much. How? By studying and I can go where Barrack Obama lives to protest. Why? because I want college to be like middle school or elementary where you don't have to pay to go there and get an equal chance like everyone else."

Sonia said,

"I would…

Posted on November 12, 2012 at 12:24pm 0 Comments

At Sandoval Apartments this week, the girls imagined being the President and what they could do to help our country. The Sandoval girls are good citizens! They have the desire to make a change and I believe that someday so many of them will. Here are some of their suggestions:

"Que me ayuden en la escuela y que le ayuden a mi mama a trabajar y que me ayuden a que pase mi papa en El Paso"

-Ayleen

"I want to help the people that need money for their clothes and shoes and…
