I had to postpone writing this blog until I could cool down and look back on this year's roommate disaster with a positive attitude. It is now that my school year is over and my apartment drama has long passed that I can look at my experience through a different lens. For a long time I had one response for someone who considered themselves a feminist and it was, "Get over yourself". I couldn't stand women telling me, "Don't buy from them, that's a sexist company!" or "Don't go watch that movie, the director is a misogynist" or "Don't say 'hey guys' to a room of girls, because that's rude!". Each year when I come back home for the holidays I am always surprised to see how much has changed in my city. New highways are being built, we are getting an awesome new shopping mall, a downtown stadium is in the works and new restaurants are sprouting up everywhere!
