Are you ready for a new school year?

I was dropping off my little brother for his first day of 4th grade and as we were exchanging kisses and hugs he asked if I was ready for the new school year. I said yes partially because he was running late and why wouldn't I be?I spent the whole summer with my family learning how to play video games (thanks brothers) and obsessing over Bunheads. I had three months of getting ready and now I don't think I am.Are you guys ready to start the school year? See More

Internet changing the way we find jobs

I was in 4th grade when I used my first computer. It was as big as a microwave and the only game I could play was Oregon Trail. I learned to type and navigate the keyboard soon after. I was 12 years old when I created a MySpace account. Even with all the hype, I deactivated my account after two months. About 4 years ago I got a Facebook and signed up for my twitter handle when I was 18. From my earliest memory everything was digitalized and instant. Now we are in an age where everything is…See More

"Great point Karen!  Something that I have been thinking about a lot lately is that you must always use your "digital self" to monitor your real self.  What I mean by that is that as long as I have been "living in the digital…"

Moving home

It has been a little over a couple weeks since I left El Paso and moved to El Centro, California. Mind you it has been about 8 years since I've lived in California and about 17 since I lived in El Centro. Regardless, coming "home" has been a whirlwind of emotions. Not only do I live a few blocks away from family, but with my parents working I am stuck unpacking our 2-story home. And did I mention it is over 115 degrees and we barely got our cable installed (we are still patiently waiting for our…See More

Depression

To All:

Recently a very close friend of mine was diagnosed with MDD (major depression disorder). It was a shock to me and to her family as well as other close friends she confided in. Straight A student, taking the hardest classes, in newspaper, does community service, the loudest craziest person… Continue
