Dear Mr. Presiden

Congratulations for winning this presidential election! Firstable, I would like to present myself, I'm Jessica Tarin, a current member of latinitas who would like to empower the voice of women of this country. Nowadays women want to participate, speak, and work more and more for themselves, but there's still anti feminist people out there that see women as weak individuals. I challenge you Mr. President to change that, to tell Hollywood productors and directors that it's okay for a woman to… Continue

Dear Future President

Hopefully, you're not a rude person and wants to build a big wall and deport many important people out of the states. I hope you will know what's best for this country and will continue to make people feel at home and comfortable.

Embrace your accent!

“Do you know what a foreign accent is? It’s a sign of bravery.” – Amy Chua, Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother

For many immigrants, assimilation to their new home is considered a very important step. When I was younger and immigrated to the United States, my parents took great strides to make sure that I did not feel out of place in my new surroundings. They got me involved in sports, pushed me to make friends and worked to make sure I knew both Spanish and English…

Holocaust Museum/UTEP

Today's adventure was based on the Holocaust events and tragedies that occurred between 1933 to 1945. They are multi-media galleries that showed us the Nazi atrocities, concentration camps, and government. Also it was a great experience to know the UTEP campus because as an upcoming freshman I would be struggling to know where my classes are.

Holocaust Museum in El Paso

The museum was so good! It makes you think about all of the suffering and damage they went through. It makes you appreciate and grateful for the life you have. Some of the stuff you learn at the museum is pretty amazing yet it makes you sad to think how much they suffered. The holocaust museum was a great museum.

SAY NO TO SMOKING!

How many times have you heard that smoking is bad for you? My answer would be many times but yet again I see the same people being told that its bad be the ones smoking after they have just heard the effects that it has on our body. Many of us have either grown up with someone who smokes or we have a friend that have been smoking for quite some time. Being around people that smoke can have an influence on whether if you smoke or not but most importantly even if you still decide not to smoke…

#WomenDeserveTheSameRespect

Women should receive the same respect as men! It gets me mad knowing how dumb and "machistas" men are. A women is capable of doing whatever she wants, accomplishing tasks that even men can't, but the point here is that women should be treated equal as men. Both men and women play a very essential role in this world. It's very important that women speak for themselves showing that with our strong, mature, and multi-tasking mentality we can change the world.

Why you should work in retail at least once in your life.

Retail- an enormous entity that has taken over our lives unknowingly. We live surrounded by ads, stores, commercials etc., constantly being drawn into the retail world whether you work within the industry or you not. Whether you are picking up coffee, running an errand or just passing by, retail has become a part of our daily routines.

If you were to make a poll amongst your friends, most would opt out of working in retail due to misconceptions in the field. It is important to…

5 Ways You Can Help Stop Climate Change

  1. Plant a tree! Trees help absorb carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and release good ol’ oxygen back out for us. To help plant trees, volunteer with an environmental organization or see if you can get a program started at school.
  2. Instead of driving to school, take the bus or ride your bike if it’s not too far! You can also carpool to school with a neighbor. This will help cut down on carbon dioxide emissions by reducing the amount of cars on the road.
  3. Save our carbon…

advice I have for some young ladies who are growing up are always be confident, don't let people opinions bother you. You are beautiful no matter what . Be positive because these years are difficult but if you always have so,etching to smile about then things just seem easier . Something I wish I had learned before was people come and go but the ones that brimg out the best in you hold onto, because when the time comes and you need someone to make you laugh they will be there.

How to Get Over Anything That's Bothering You

I always try not to get upset so easily. I know it won’t make me feel any better, but it’s a natural reaction. It’s easy to dwell on the past and what went wrong—to think back on embarrassing moments or actions you wish you could take back—but the unfortunate thing about the past is that it can’t be changed. So how do you get over it? Here’s what I do:

I ask myself: Will this matter in five years? The answer is usually no.

In the moment, we don’t…

But first, let me take a SELFIE!

June 21st is National Selfie Day, so I thought I’d take this time to reflect on the role that the selfie has played in society in recent years. There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the impact that selfie taking has on girls and women… Some sources suggest that being exposed to other people’s selfies on social media can really hurt someone’s self-esteem, while others say that taking and posting one’s own…
