Been watching this link pop up in the blogosphere on Bust Magazine's site and amongst Latinitas' supporters. My question is what design team thought this was worth publishing on a shirt for girls already facing innumerable amounts of mixed messages about sex, beauty, their value in the world...

So...I was reading and found a link one of my sorority sisters shared with me which is GREAT and I want to share it with you all! If you need to find a cocktail dress or even a cute outfit for a special occasion there’s a website that rents designer outfits, gowns, and even jewelry for a very reasonable price. They allow you to get an extra size just in case, and if you find your outfit not fitting you can return it and get your money back. If interested check out the website:… Continue

Saw promos for Zoe Saldana's new movie Colombiana. Curious to know the premise of this movie. Hard to tell in the commercial, but excited to see Zoe re-acculterating to her Latina roots in a role clearly defined as Afro-Colombiana. Zoe is often relegated to roles intended for African Americans only and we have rarely seen her engaged in a Latina identity, something sad for all the Afro-Cubanas, Colombianas, Dominicanas and other women waiting for this kind of exposure. I fear that the story… Continue

Spank Rock, LMFAO, and Ke$ha- in that order. Wednesday, August 3rd, at 7:00 P.M., the line to get into Cedar Park Center was out the door- literally. Hundreds of glitter-covered girls eagerly waited on the sidewalk, tickets in hand. Spank Rock kicked it off to a great start and had the floor going wild- so much that a push pit was initiated! After a few songs, there was an intermission, and LMFAO's banner was unrolled for all to see, eliciting a few excited screams from the crowd. Minutes… Continue

This was written for a friend, she lost her mother a couple of days ago and there was no other way of expressing how I felt but through words..

I think the Ke$ha Concert was fun and exciting to see and to be there. It was definetely weird but overall it was really a pumped up concert! I did not know that Spank Rock or LMFAO were going to be singing there so that was new to me and this was my 1st concert so it was really fun. There were some parts that were awkward but they were really funny also. Ke$ha as the main event she was great and altough her voice was different from how she sings in videos and in her songs she was good. Her… Continue

As much as we hate to admit it, another school year is creeping up on us. Time for new teachers, new friends, and brand new pencils. It's also the time for bullying to start again. Make sure you treat your friends nicely and stick up for others. Don't let someone be stepped on because they're different or just easy to pick on. Also keep in mind that a bully doesn't just crush smaller people for fun, she might do it to feel better about herself or because it's "cool". If you are being bullied or… Continue
