Last Day with Latinitas!

Today is my last day with Latintas. I can't believe how fast time has flown by. I remember when I first started my internship back in August. I remember being scared because I wasn't sure of how everything was going to work out. I remember having met Melissa on that very first day because it was her first day too. We were both quiet at first but then we immediately started to bond and became friends. I…

Taking care of your skin...

Want clear, glowing, gorgeous skin? Cleaning your skin is the first thing you need to start doing as part of a daily routine.

The following steps will show you how to take care of your skin. You will get the skin you always wanted!!

*Be nice to your face. Picking, poking and squeezing force bacteria deeper into the skin, resulting in scarring and further breakouts.

* Wash your face twice a day (no more) with warm water and a mild soap made for people…

Christmas Around the World!

I've always been curious to learn how people in other parts of the world celebrate Christmas. I remember that when I was in the 3rd grade my teacher made us write a short essay explaining how Christmas is celebrated in a specific country. I vividly remember that I chose France because I love the french language and culture. It's been quite awhile since I heard my classmates present on their given subject so that's why I decided to research and write a little bit about how Christmas is…

Eastridge

I was reading an article today that talked about Eastridge. Some people may not know what this is so I shall explain a little bit. Eastridge is a neighborhood on the Eastside of El Paso and each year this large neighborhood decorates for Christmas. Many people go to drive around the neighborhood to see the houses that are decorated beautifully. While I was reading the article it spoke of how the tradition began with two neighbors competing amongst one another and then carried over to other…

Hard to say good-bye!

The day finally came, they are leaving latinitas, they are leaving me. Melissa and Marcela, two interns, two girls that I met and that I appreciate a lot. Both of them will be leaving this week. It was a nice semester knowing them and working with them the same days, same times at Latinitas Heardquarters. It is always good to meet people like them, hardworking women that I'm sure will be very sucessfull in the future. Both of them, together with Marisol and Alicia have made my…

Imperfections of Media Editing

Not long ago, a friend of mine suggested I read an article on photo editing and the media. We all know how controversial this issue is and how important it is to make girls aware of it. However, is it me, or are magazines ridiculously editing magazine covers? Because a few weeks ago, I stared noticing that many of the photo edits are very obvious.

I remember seeing a cover of Britney Spears on Cosmo and her head looked too small for her body. Another time, I saw…

Favorite Quotes!

I didn't know what to write for this blog but then Marisol asked Yuritzy, Melissa, and I to make an ornament with a quote that we like. I thus decided to write down a couple of some of my favorite quotes.

"Whatever you do in life will be insignficant but it's very important that you do it anyway." -Ghandi

"Dance as though no one is watching, Love as you've never been hurt before, Sing as though no one can hear you, Live as though heaven is on earth." -… Continue

End of the Semester

For today's blog, I just wanted to say how happy I am to be finished with the semester. I had my last final today and I feel relieved that school is finally over. I just want to rest from school. I can't believe that I now have only one more semester till I graduate. I'm excited but nervous at the same time. It also makes me very happy that my friends who are studying out of town are finally coming home. I haven't seen them since the end of July so it makes me really happy that I finally get to… Continue

The importance of homework and studying

Homework and studying serve an important purpose for learning. Homework is not simply busy-work assigned to students to keep them occupied at home. Homework assignments and studying serve several educational needs that are essential to receiving a complete education. Both of them, provide an opportunity for students to develop self-discipline, study habits, and time management skills. Everyone can set homework…

A Little Thought On Friends...

Friends, old ones, new ones, black ones, blue ones, white ones, brown ones, friends, who? Friends are something that I have always had in my life and have held close and dear to my heart. As graduation comes around I can't help but think of even more friends that I will take a step away from because I won't be around as often but I do hope to keep in touch with. Our relationships are always changing but I've learned that friendships are what you make of them. You can have great friends but… Continue

Graduation

I am finally graduating on Saturday December 11, 2010! I can't say it enough how happy I am to be finishing the second big step in my education to get to my career goals. I can still play back memories from elementary school and middle school that included talks from people that encouraged us to graduate high school and go to college. I still remember my career goals growing up. First I wanted to be a teacher, then a physical therapist, then a fashion designer, and then I finally reached the… Continue

Express Your Feelings!

It seems to me that every day more and more people are afraid to express their feelings, whether they be of anger, sadness, love, or happiness. Most of the time people hold back their feelings because they fear being judged or even being rejected. I tend to go along with these kinds of people because it's always so much easier to hold back. However, I have come to realize that we shouldn't hold on to our feelings. We shouldn't take life for granted and we should express how we… Continue
