Today we celebrate the International Day of Nonviolence held in honor of Mahatma Gandhi's birthday which

Gandhi is known for his non-violence approach to civil disobedience, or satyagraha, which led to India's independence from British rule.

Independence Day

I honestly have no idea what I will be doing for this year's Fourth of July. My family is pretty huge, but extremely unorganized. Everyone just asks everyone else if they've heard of any plans. No one has, and so we wait. Thinking like most procrastinators that we have all the time in the world to plan everything. We do this for every Memorial Day, every birthday, every Easter. Hot Topic: My Dad

The title for this could really be long, if I put all of my father's names. I call him Dad, Daddy, Papa, Pa, Man, Mr. Man, Señor, Dude, Padre, Señor Luis, and others that I probably don't even remember now. When I hear feminism....

I think of the millions of women fighting for the cause. I think of high heeled shoes standing ground on a decision. I think of ribbons and bows tied together for values.
