Fashion Trends for Spring 2013
The frigid winter days are finally over and spring has arrived. We can now put away our coats and sweaters and make way for shorts, skirts, tank tops and dresses. Most of us out there who love fashion are probably looking for the latest spring trends so we can update our wardrobe this season. Below I give you four emerging trends for spring 2013:

For me, looking through catalogs for my favorite stores, and then checking out what the mannequins are wearing is really exciting! It's fun to see the styles and put some outfits together in your head, then go and hunt for them in the stores. But... when you find that perfect outfit that you saw on the model and try it on...and it looks TERRIBLE...it's just sad.
This has definitely happened to me, and I'm sure countless other girls. At first, it is really hard to let go of the hype of…

Cultures Are Not Trends
Fashion trends are fluid. They change every season as soon as the fashion industry decides what's in and out.
While I'm not a fashionista, I do enjoy a stylish look every now and then. There are some very cute patterns and styles out there, but there are also offensive trends. First let me begin with defining cultural appropriation, according to this article…

I'm Multi-Cultural, are you?

How to Choose the Perfect Quinceañera Gown
Just because you wish you looked like Reese Witherspoon or Natalie Portman at your next formal event, chances are, if you’re an
average woman like me, which means I’m thinner on top, heavier on the bottom and short all over, you probably lack more Portman and
appear more pear-shaped. However, all women deserve to look and feel stunning in stylish…

I love the women's fashions from the 40's/50's era. If I had it my way I would throw away my jeans and t-shirts and switch them out for a closet full of voluminous, midi-length skirts, pencil skirts, silky button up blouses, skirt suits, casual gloves, glossy pearls, of course, hats! I would trade in my boring, everyday pony tail for flouncy pin curls and my overrated two piece swim suit for a retro- one piece suit. Ah yes, the apparel in those days, though more modest than…

Fashion Alert!
It is now socially acceptable to wear pajama's out in public! Celebrities have been spotted sporting their silky sleepwear garb both while out on the town and to red carpet events. I wouldn't go wearing pajama-inspired to school or church anytime soon, but it's only a matter of time until this trend trickles down to us common people. What do you think about this recent fad?Could you see yourself following this trend in the near future?…

Fashion at the Screen Actors Guild Awards
Unable to view the SAG awards last night, I decided to catch up on the details via the internet later that night. I have always been fascinated by the red carpet, in part because SO many people are obsessed with the jewelry, designer labels, the hair, the makeup, shoes, and so on. Celebrities are under microscopic inspection and a single flaw can land them under the “worst dressed” list. Critics can be fairly cruel sometimes, but does their opinion truly matter? Personally, yes and…

This fall is all about the bold look -- from eye-catching geometric patterns to day-glow neons.
Celebrity stylist Anita Patrickson has helped celebs such as Jennifer Lopez, Katherine Heigl and Britney Spears sport the latest looks everywhere -- from glossy magazine covers to the red carpet. “My biggest tip is to own it,” says Patrickson.…

Sexy Pride
I recently had a conversation with one of my friends about the way Latinas dress. Because I posted up a previous blog about this and my friend isn't Latina, and asked me if I thought that Latinas dressed more provocatively than women in other cultures. I really didn't know what to answer. I mean, Latinas are very diverse and our ideologies are extremely varied.
Still,…
