I am exhausted. I never thought I'd be working eight hours a day at this internship. Oddly enough I love it. I am in love with what we do. I am intrigued by everything that is going on and the fast pace is just exhilarating.
First things first though. Lets start with last week and how it went. The last time I updated my blog was Tuesday and that night my brother, his wife and myself went to this place called Quincy Market in Boston. This place is Heaven for food lovers. It's like a mini mall but with just the food court. It's so long that my sister-in-laws dinner consisted of just sampling the food the previous time she had been there. We ended up going to a very nice restaurant and just had a great time before they headed back to Buffalo. After that day all I did was explore the city and look for a job. This was something that I wanted to do even before I left so I could help my parents out financially. This trip has definitely been the opposite of cheap and I wanted to be able to help out with my personal expenses at least. On my way back home I stopped by The Harvard Bookstore since it's just right around the corner from my apartment. This place is Heaven. You might think I'm exaggerating but trust me when I say it is by far the best bookstore I have ever been to. Best thing about this place? I met a boy there. The sweetest, most well-mannered guy I have met in a long time. We even hung out and he took me to the Celtics game. (game 7) I was shocked. This had to be the best first date ever. Anyway that was probably the highlight of my week. I have learned to use the subway (kind of) and it is full of very handsome people that I can just stare at. That made me sound really creepy but I'm going to overlook it because it's true. =)
First week of work. I met the entire team (except one guy that's coming from France. We're a very eclectic group) that I'll be working with this summer and I couldn't be happier. Everyone is around my age and super fun and energetic. We even made a Tumblr for YouthTrade so we could promote our young entrepreneurs. Given the fact that we have so many we had to split it and work on specific ones and to my good luck I got Perfect Fuel Chocolate. I was so happy because I wanted to work with them in some way and today I actually got to meet them on a more personal level. I went to their offices in Boston and it was just amazing to talk to both Nick and Miles about why they decided to do this project. I tried their chocolate for the first time too and I must say it was too bitter for my taste but it definitely gave me the energy that it promises. (It's like a red bull in a piece of chocolate)
For now I believe that has been my week all rolled into one neat blog post. I'll try to blog once at the end of every week just so I don't bombard you guys with random posts but yes so far this has been more than I ever imagined.
Until next time,
A very excited Latinita

Comment by Cynthia Amaya on June 7, 2012 at 10:10am This sounds amazing! I've never been outside of Texas and the experiences you're having make me smile! :) If and when I go to Boston, I will definitely check out The Harvard Bookstore, that's something I cannot pass up (mostly for the books, but a finding a well-mannered boy is a plus)! I hope you get to go to South America, that would be incredible!
Comment by Sonia Rangel on June 6, 2012 at 12:25pm OMG! Celtics game, how exciting! And you job sounds fantastic. I want to go to the Harvard bookstore, I don't know why I didn't go while I was there. But I love Quincy Market. So much good food! And if you go to South America, I hope you have a lot of fun. I still need to add you on Skype. Just got back home yesterday so I will tonight. :)
