LatinitasMagazine.org - A Strong Voice for Latina Youth

Hello there! As an introduction sort of to myself as a blogger and to everyone and anyone who reads this, here are just some lists I've composed!
I think i'll post lists every first of the new month! Sort of as a monthly ritual and to reflect on what I am thinking about during that time

Things that get me stoked (Oct. 1, 2012)

+ Sweaters.
+ Buttons.

+ Tacos.
+ My mom laughing.

+ Sleeping.
+ My bed.
+ Black Jeans

+ New words.

+ When you think you have homework and then you don't.

+ Brushing my hair.
+ Finishing college applications or scholarships.

+ Puppies.

+ Current Events.
+ Cupcakes.
+ Writing.
+ My sisters.
+ Artwork.
+ Newspaper.

Things that get my goat:
Scholarship applications, college applications, hot weather in the fall, having a cold, lack of cranberry juice, hard rice, not being able to wear sweaters, my schools dress code, others failing you, not being accepted into things, math on mondays, forgetting words in spanish, not writing enough, gpa's, junior year haunting me, scratchy blankets, when youtube videos won't load, missing a deadline, not being emailed back, wasting time, math, cold fries, worrying about college.

I am very excited about starting to blog regularly on here! I am this really weird stage in my life where I am suppose to be making the most of my year in high school, but i'm also expected to be really focused on my future plans. It's scary to describe and experience! I'm hoping this blog will serve as a tool for me to express how i'm feeling and how I can help others going through the same thing. For the most part though, I'll be using it as a plat form to post many different things!

xoxoxo,
Mary!

Hi guys! Thanks for the comments!
Carolina, I started freaking out about college Sophomore year too! Don't wear yourself out too quickly! Focus on what's tangible during freshman and Sophomore year. Have fun with your friends, enjoy time with your family, relax, relax, relax! Junior year will come sooner then you think and you'll need all of your energy for that, but remember to let yourself breathe!

Jasmine, I am so, so excited for college! I just want to get accepted already! I am trying really hard to take it easy, but it's really hard when you want everything to happen so quickly and perfectly. Trying my best to relax about it though.

Veronica, Thanks so much for the warm words! I journal often and can really appreciate the social media involvement that comes along with blogging. :) Thanks for reading.

Oh how I love the feeling of thinking you have homework and then it turns out you don't!  I'm a high school sophomore and I'm already freaking out about college!

When it comes to the college stuff, just take a DEEP breath and focus on one thing at a time. I know it can be overwhelming, but the college years are truly the BEST years of your life. You learn so much about yourself, the world around you, and are in the process of helping build your career.

Hey Mary! I'm glad to see your first post and how ready you are to share some of your world with everyone else! I will probably be reading regularly. Lol. I love blogging and hope you find it as interesting and powerful as I have. It's great to have a place to just say some things that you really need to and then just have feedback from others. Feel free to read my stuff as well.

From what you've written, I can tell that your blogs will be something many can relate too. High school is tough but it also sounds like you are in the right track!
