LatinitasMagazine.org - A Strong Voice for Latina Youth

Every woman has a story. I think that it's interesting to look a picture of someone and wonder what their particular story is. For instance, when I look at pictures of my mom when she was a teenager, a young woman, when she got married, and other times in her life, I think about this woman that I may have never met. What was her life like before I entered it? What was she like? Fortunately for me, I get to ask these questions. My mother was born in Chihuahua, Mx. She moved to California when she was 11. I admire her because she didn't let her obstacles stand in her way to be what she wanted. She learned English, worked hard at whatever job she had, she raised 3 children. She is the hardest working person I know. She puts all her creative abilities into her job as a Special Education Aid. She never just accepts something that isn't her best. I admire her ability to go from the girl I see in pictures to the woman who I know today.
