An American Dream

Today I saw two videos on Human trafficking focusing on immigrant women. It focused on their stories trafficking to the the United States. They are either kidnapped or given the story of a life changing experience in order to have them go voluntarily. These women are sexually exploited and exploited in many different ways by men and women. Taking advantage of their undocumented status it is hard for them to believe their is a way out of their situation. It was so sad to see what these women go through. I wanted to cry throughout the middle of the movies but I was in class I had to hold it in. The thought of being in that situation brought feelings of desperation, frustration, sadness, depression,nothing but negative feelings. Made me wish I could do something to help all the women going through that situation. Although their are programs that help women out once they are found statistics show that their are more than 20,000 women in that situation. If only there was a way to reach out to all the women vulnerable to those incidents and make a difference. If only there was a way to prevent all that damage being done to these women. The purpose of blog is to simple show awareness of a problem that currently exist. If you ever have doubts about anyone being abused because of lack of documentation don't be afraid to speak up for them because if you don't no one else will.
