I read an article online about a public art project by American artist Candy Chang, that took place in Las Vegas. This art projected invited people to anonymously write a confession and then it would be displayed along with hundreds of others confessions on the Vegas strip. I read some of the confessions that were displayed and found some of them to be very similar to some things I myself, hold deep within me. This lead me to wonder how many other people hold these confessions deep within them and might never get to say them to someone or even out loud. It amazes me to think how many things we humans take to the grave. Would are lives be significantly different if we ever decided to make them public? If that is the case, many people will dye without knowing what could have been. This project made me realize how unhappy people can be sometimes but wont do anything about it because they fear retaliation or change. Maybe its time to stop this behavior and learn to be honest with ourselves and not be afraid to speak our fears or deep thoughts.
