Contributing to your community via clean-up

So i am a sociology major, and at this time i am interning with our community outreach organization called Comunidades Unidas( community united) who helps out a lot with the west side of the state i reside in. We are going over concerns within the community through data that was collected from individuals who live in these areas, and one of the biggest concerns in our community was our rivers and parks, not being clean or safe for our children, our ourselves as grown ups.

So many issues with this area, so with this blog i want to encourage you to help our parks and rivers stay clean. put garbage in the trash can, not the streets, keep drugs, alcohol and smoking out of our parks. as a school community service project, you could even clean up the parks, by planting plants, and weeds pulled out, graffiti cleaned over, and so many more ways. it just depends on your area.

the point i am trying to reach, by giving the example of the parks, and rivers is that we should be giving back to our community, because its ours, and we live in it, we should take care of it, this is just a way to keep our earth revolving for a bit longer, remember everyone's voice counts. Make a difference today.
