I have literally romanticized cities like Chicago and New York City. I have dreamt of living in the big cities for years. I'd love to see the architecture and be a part of the largest cities in the U.S. Today my brother and I were hanging out and running errands all around the city. We ended up walking and talking in downtown El Paso and ended up eating at a little restaurant. We also walked further to a little sweet shop. Walking around like that made me think about real estate loss in El Paso. Almost all of the buildings are not in use. Only the first floor shops are rented out to businesses and the rest of the floors are either boarded up or used as storage. I wish those rooms/ apartments were used. I would totally buy one of the buildings and turn them into lofts and studios NYC style. I would sell them cheap. And since Universities and restaurants and bars are near by i think it would do well. Also I'd sell them not rent them to people. Just an idea. I always get random ideas like that I can totally picture the layouts already and the lobby :) I wish city hall would consider something like this I feel that it would do pretty well especially with international indivdiduals who send their kids to College here in the city...

Comment by Sonia Rangel on December 13, 2011 at 12:36pm City hall has been considering that for a long time....and they have made small strides. Although not enough. I enjoy downtown EP even though it's very quiet compared to Chicago and NYC. There's just a bunch of issues like money, politics, etc.
