El Paso- many things can be said about this city. But, I hear a lot of my friends saying they hate it and they want to move. El Paso may be dry and hot- but no matter where you move, every city will have its flaws (Seattle-Always raining!). I even complain about it too, but in the end I appreciate living here because I get to be here with my friends and family. And of course, I am not the only one.
My cycling teacher is a German lady who moves back to Germany next week. In class last week when she told us, she broke down and started crying. She said she loves El Paso, and that it is better than Germany.
I have met many people from around the U.S., and around the world. They always consider El Paso to have some importance in their lives. Maybe not because of the weather, but because of the memories they have here.
My message here is to remember where you come from. You may hate it, or love it, but either way it played a vital role in your life. Also, appreciate what you have. El Paso may not be my dream city, but I have had many fortunate events and memories here. Thirdly, make the best of every situation. Sitting around the complaining won’t get you anywhere or make time go faster. So while you are here or in any environment, take advantage. Explore El Paso and see what you can find. There is something here for everyone!

Comment by Karen Zamora on July 3, 2012 at 7:44pm I just recently moved to a small town in California from San Diego and I have never been more homesick. This is my third big move across the country and I cannot agree with you more. Everywhere I go I hear people complain about the city they live in, and from my experience I have learned to make most of what you have!
