During the summer we tend to pack on weight because in reality, all we tend to do is sit on our butts all day, eating, watching television, or going out and eating at fast food restaurants. Ladies.. let us go against that norm! Especially if you are a college student. It is said that as a Freshman you gain the "freshman 15." The "freshman 15" is the theory that as a college student you are bound to gain weight. Sadly, the theory does apply to most students.
You might be asking yourself, how can I enjoy my summer without gaining weight? Well ladies, there are plenty of things that you can do to lose weight and get fit! It has been proven that drinking hot water with squeezed lemons help your body to burn unnecessary fat. Not only does it burn fat but it also regulates your organs. If you're not a big fan of plain water with lemon than try herbal teas from tea bags such as, Chamomile Tea, Black Tea, and Green Tea with sweetener rather than regular sugar. Not many people realize that women have to eat at least 5-6 times a day, however they should be smaller portions. Three meals a day with a healthy snack in between such as a fruit, yogurt w/granola, or you could even get away with eating Dark Chocolate.
Try to stay away from Microwaveable foods like Hot Pockets, avoid fast foods, sodas, don't eat too much red meat like beef, try alternatives to cow milk such as Soy Milk, however I recommend Vanilla Almond Milk, and believe it or not.. avoid drinking juice. It's hard to believe that drinking juice is a bad thing but it contains so much sugar that it isn't helping you in any way. Good foods are avocados, eggs, turkey, fruits and veggies, try to avoid Ranch dressing because it will defeat the purpose of you eating healthy, drink lots of water, and try to eat your last meal by 6-7 p.m. Losing weight is never an easy task but if you put your mind to it, the simplest things will make the difference. To lose that extra belly fat it means that you need a 70% healthy diet, and 30% exercise.
Don't give up, have faith in yourself, find a workout buddy, and remember.. everyone has to start somewhere. Don't just say you want to do it.. actually do it!
