I cannot write (*by hand anymore)
I'm a champion typist. Maybe close to 80-90 words a minute at my pique. (We had typing class when I was in highschool - on TYPEWRITERS!) Well, good typing means nothing when you return to the world of written correspondence. I'm writing a few thank you notes and it looks like a (no offense Latinitas) a 5th grader wrote them. I am writing executives at big companies and I can't even stay even. I used to love my handwriting that evolved from loopy wide curves in my L and my D and the later to a more structured font I learned as one of 2 girls in my high school that took Mechanical Drawing, a precursor to learning architecture. Now, I write as I am in madness, scratchy, illegible. My hand hurts actually from the writing. I am physically aching from the badness of it. Technologist swore books would disappear and magazines too and that writing by hand would join them in becoming somewhat obsolete, yet a handwritten note still has so much more humanity than a typed one. I'm going to practice my writing, go back to the beginning and get a big pencil maybe.

You should get those big huge colorful pencils. That will make writing more fun!

I'm sorry Laura. I hope your writing gets better and that your hands stop hurting. I understand the feeling completely though but it can turn into a positive. When I was younger, I realized I wanted my writing to not only stop being so boring but be more representative of my personality. I dislike print writing. I have to mix in cursive or I feel very compulsive about it. Anyways, I'm glad you want to represent Latinitas well through simple things like writing but remember to not be so hard on yourself! Have fun practicing! You'll be fine :)
