Millions of miles away Egyptians are rejoicing in their ability to change history. United, they came together to overthrow President Hosni Mubarak after his 30-year presidency. Although Egypt is on the other side of the world, people all from all countries are celebrating this incredible victory with Egypt.
It's unbelievable to imagine this movement started on Twitter. Who would have thought that a social network would give way to such a massive movement? The internet is such a powerful tool that connects every corner of the world. But this is technology at it's best.
We have this power within our grasp and it's up to us to use it right. Other middle eastern countries are following the example of Egypt and using social networks to band together in an effort to mobilize citizens and improve their countries.
If a country can use a site like Twitter to overthrown a government dictator, what isn't possible with the use of the media? What can countries in Latina America do to begin a movement themselves? What can we do to create our own movements? The possibilities are endless.
