The Tays girls talked about the difference between a healthy and unhealthy relationship and later they came up with some reasons that violence exists in the world today. Here is what they had to say!
Sonia said,
"In an unhealthy relationship, people are always fighting. They don't fight in a healthy one. Healthy relationships are when people are nice to each other, they help each other and have respect for each other. Abuse is an example of unhealthy habit."
Alexandra says,
"In a healthy relationship, they respect each other, love each other, and get out of the problems together. Unhealthy relationships fight every day and yell at each other."
Joanna says,
"healthy relationships are when guys have respect for a girl, is with her and doesn't tell her what to do. It is not healthy when there is not respect and when guys and girls are possesive over one another or when one of the partners wants to abuse the other."
Alma says,
"Healthy relationships come from respecting each other over everything. It is the main point. In unhealthy, disrespect leads to being mean to one another. The partners don't help each other out and they fight a lot. All of this leads to abuse and that is the main point of unhealthy."
These are the reasons they came up with as to why violence may exist:
-People think that women are weaker
-stereo types of women from what we see in the music videos give men the thought that women don't deserve respect- when people act crazy
- when people drink alcohol
- when they get jealous
- control
- they don't get what they want
Here are some ways to control your anger
1. Counting to one thousand
2. Scream alone
3. Go for a walk
4. Take a bath
5. Watch TV
