Nuclear Family "Problem"

    Earlier today I was reading an article about how we define a problem. I found it very interesting because it opened my eyes and made me realize the answer to a problem that had been pending in my life. My father past away last year on father's day and it was a hard times for me and my family. As time passed the biggest problem seemed to be that no one in my nuclear family felt support from each other. A problem is defined based on the values that we are raised with and make for ourselves. Meaning what might be a problem for one person might not be a problem for someone else because they both value different ideas. During those hard times we couldn't understand each other as a family because we all wanted to deal with the situation in different ways: my mother dealt with her problem by turning to religion, my brother just wanted to be on his own, my sister turned to her friends, and me I just wanted to keep working and go to school to keep myself busy.  It hit me and made me see that we all need to deal with problems differently because we all have our own values. Although our problem was the same what we each saw as the problem was completely different. Every person defines a problem different and I have learned to respect how, what, or when each person deals with it. Just because society defines something as a problem doesn't mean you have to see as a problem yourself.
