Patsy Takemoto Mink Education Foundation scholarships to help low-income moms!

Five (5) awards of up to $2,000 each!

Deadline: WEDNESDAY, August 1!

Applicants must be:
- A mother, at least 17 years of age, with minor children
- Be enrolled in a skills training, ESL, or GED program; or pursuing a technical/vocational degree, an associate's degree, a first bachelor's degree, or a professional/master's/doctoral degree
- Be enrolled in an accredited program in 2012-2013
- Be low-income (annual family income less than $17,500 for a family of 2; $22,000 for a family of 3; $26,500 for a family of 4)

* Patsy Takemoto Mink (1927-2002) served in the U.S. Congress from 1965-1976 and again from 1990-2002, where she represented Hawaii's 2nd Congressional District. She was the first woman of color elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.
