My latina friend Alison and I started looking for prom dresses (since they seem to be cheaper during this time of year). I really did not expect to find anything being super picky and self-conscience. Surprisingly, we came across some pretty bright and gorgeous gowns that don't just look good on skinny "model like" girls, but on those of us with curves! My favorites were these 3:
The Mermaid Dress: Really fitted up top and flared out at the bottom, these can be kind of tough to walk in if you get them too tight (so don't eat before you try it on!) I LOVE the way it accents my legs without looking too sleazy. Favorite colors are white and red.
Princess Dresses: Sweetheart tops made of lace with a poofy bottom that looks great on anyone! The princess look is back and the ones I found and loved were accented with light catching crystals, love it! I tried 2 on and truly, this style looks gorgeous on any body type.
One Shoulder: Ruffles and one shoulder styles were EVERYwhere! Of course, you see these on latina women all over, but dress makers are finally catching on! My friend chose this style and has tried it on at least 20 times! Now that we found our dresses, all we need are dates with matching tuxes!!

I LOVE the mermaid dress!! But yes! I thought about sitting in the puffy one and it would be so annoying (but beautiful!)

I think I like the mermaid dress the best but the one shoulder would be more prom like. The princess dress would be radical though. How long would you like to be in a puffy dress?
