Random acts of kindness campaign

The picture above is Martin Kornfeld's quote, "If we practice one random act of kindness daily, we just might set the world in the right direction."

This is wise advice to go by, especially this week. Though it's not the official Random Acts of Kindness week (February 13th through the 19th in the United States and Canada), Latinitas Body and Soul Camp is having a random acts of kindness campaign this Tuesday-Friday, the 17th though the 20th of July.

On this four-day campaign, we will have a different random act of kindness each day. Today, it's to give a compliment to every person that you see (or as many as you possibly can). Below is the picture we're using for today's theme.

Our goal: Every time a random act of kindness is committed, a picture should be taken and posted online (if you've complimented someone's hair, take a picture of their hair) and write a short bit about what you've done.

Example:

I compliment someone's zebra-striped, purple laced shoes. I take a picture of the shoes, and post it on Facebook, Twitter, or a blog (like My Latinitas!) and then write a short sentence, such as: "Aren't these the coolest shoes? I HAD to compliment them for the Random Acts of Kindness campaign!" Then, if you're on Twitter, hash tag to #giveacompliment for Tuesday, #smileateveryone for Wednesday, #giveahomelessmoney for Thursday, and #pickuptrash for Friday. If you're on Facebook, post the picture and what you did on the Latinitas timeline, write a status about it, or tag us on it. And if you're on My Latinitas or another blog, then just write a blog about the Random Acts of Kindness Campaign and what you did to support it.

We want as many people to know and practice the acts of kindness as they can, but not only this week. We want the world to have so many random acts of kindness all the time that they no longer become random, and the world is FINALLY in the right place, where everyone is kind to everyone else. Our first goal is for the Random Act of Kindness to spread over Texas.

So be kind all the time, especially this week. Spread the word, and make everyone's day a little brighter.
