There are certain songs that, when they come on the radio, make me go"whoooooo!" I roll down all the windows and stick my arm out and bob my hand up and down like a dolphin jumping in and out of the water. It is one of the best feelings in the world to me--- to cruise down a road with the wind whipping my face, willing my eyes to a squint, blasting a feel-good tune--- and if its' during sunset, all the better. It's not just any song that can elicit this kind of calming reaction from me. It usually has a carefree vibe, most of the time they are upbeat or nostalgic, and a lot of them feature a ukulele. I categorize these songs as 'Jeep Songs' on my iTunes. That's why I roll down all the windows---since I don't have a jeep of my own I have to pretend. Why jeeps? Jeeps are the ultimate automobile for adventure. They are rugged and ready for anything, but at the same time they inspire me to dream and imagine a boundless, fanciful future, or destination, for myself. I feel like I can go anywhere in a jeep, like it has no limits. Similarly, these songs, whether it be because of their lyrics or their summery, soul-soothing sounds, also make me feel like I can transcend any boundaries:
