Saturday Camp: My Neighborhood, Mi Barrio

This weekend, Latinitas kicked off the fall semester with it's first Saturday Camp at the Terrazas Branch of the Austin Public Library.  Our Club Leader Josiane lead them through setting up a profile on MyLatinitas.com and a writing prompt about their neighborhood and community and here are their responses:

We ride our bikes.

Our neighborhood

is very quiet.

We always play in

our backyard.

We have a secret

hide out.

I wish there was a

pool for all the kids in our neighborhood.

My neighborhood is very quiet. One thing that I would wish for is MORE KIDS to play with!!!!!!

Also one of the things I like about my neighborhood is me and my sister found a secret

hide out. Of course other people found it too. But I don’t care. Another thing I

wish there was in my neighborhood is a pool for everyone. That would be cool.

My neighborhood is loud and there are always lots of people.                                                                                                           I like to play dolls with the other kids in the neighborhood.                                                                                                      I wish there were more toys for the kids in my neighborhood to play with.

The fun things to do in my neighborhood are to play with my friends that live close to me. My friends and I go to the community pool and the park. My friends and I play basketball near my house.  My neighborhood is very quiet at times but at others it is loud when the other kids are playing their band instruments or playing sports. I want the people who live near me and far to clean the environment.
