Should you still talk your ex. after breaking up?

Today in the morning a radio station in El Paso, brought up the discussion that many people are still talking to their ex, even though they are in a new relationship. Many callers called in and gave their opinion.

Mostly all the callers said that you should not talk to your ex because it can cause arguments with your recent lovers and the issue of trust is out the window. They also mentioned that if you do not want to bring unnecessary problems into the relationship then the simple solution would be to not talk them.

Yet, there were some that said that you should still be allowed talking to your ex. Reason for this is because they believed that there is no harm talking to your ex because if the both of you started out as friends then why lose a friendship with that person.

After hearing both sides of the arguments and listening to them, it made me agree with the callers that were against talking to their ex, because what if old feeling for that person comes back. What happens then? What happens to your recent lover? Do you guys break up?

It may be hard to accept a break up, but sometimes the best solution is to move on. It like what Johnny Cage said, “If you guys broke up for the person, it’s because there was reason for that break up. So, why still talk to that person? That is why they call it a break up.”

i say naypers for the most part. there's a reason why they're your ex right? when small children are involved, it sure does make it more complicated. Although i can tell you, since my parents are divorced, and my little sis and I are over 21 yrs, the only time my parents talk is when my mom calls my dad to tattle-tale that we got home really late after going out on weekends. laaaameeeee. the no-ex rule should apply in this instance for sure.

Thi subject is like situational you know. It depends on alot of things, whether you shpould keep contact with your ex or not. I personally think that if it causes problems then no. I mean your not with that person anymore for a reason. I would say to keep contact if like things are cool between everyone. Especially if there are like kids involved and stuff like that. I mean it just depends. By the way I <3 Johnny Kage in the mornings... its the first morning radio show that I really like and look forward to hearing.

This is definitely a touchy subject! I think it depends on various factors like for example, the reason for the break up, the age of each recipient, if they share the same friends, etc. I've never thought it was a problem to keep in touch with your ex, but again I think it only works for those mature, ready to move on, I know what I want and don't want kind of people ;)
