Stereotypes: Women and their flaws

What's your definiton of beauty? To be honest mine has changed over the years and through personal experience I've learned that beauty is more than just looks. I'm not saying looks are not important, hygiene is part of health and without it we can create diseases and we can be prone to them. Dressing up and wearing makeup is also important to make a good impression, But is beauty really all about heels and curls?
          The truth is we all have flaws and they are part of our beauty, it's something we are born with and they are essential to us just as any other part of our bodies. It makes us different from other people and beautiful in our own way. When I was little, people used to make fun of my nose. They bullied me to the point I cried because I didn't want to school. I knew that kids would laugh at me as soon as I walked in to class. My mom was reallly worried and she didn't know what to do. She told me to look at the family album and find my tia Rocio. To my surprise, she had the exact same nose as I did. My mom told me that she loved herself and how she looked. For my tia Rocio her nose was something that made her stand out and even when she was made fun of ,she loved it because she was unique. She knew and understood that her nose was not all what made her be the person she was. Then, I understood that beauty was not about having the perfect nose but about my inner self. Even when my nose might be the first thing a person sees when they meet me, once the know me well they know I'm not all about my nose.
      Don't let yourself down just because they make fun of you.Trust me I've been there.Use it as an experience and respect others and the way they look. Be strong and speak up! tell others how their comment made you feel and tell them that flaws are what make you be you. I know you might want to change the way you look , it's gone through my head to but Hey! even if I thought of plastic surgery, I'll never do it.... want to know why? I'm special and unique just the way I am people who make fun of you, are not your true friends.I think of it this way...If the first thing they see is my nose well at least when they get to know what's behind it, they'll figure out that my personality,attitude and character all together are bigger than the first thing that ups out of my face.Beauty is about YOU!! Love your flaws be yourself and others won't even notice them ;)
