The Musings of My Mind

 Strange and random thoughts often inhabit my brain. In fact, they often barge  in and make themselves at home without any conscious invitation from me. I chalk it up to having a strong imagination with a separate a mind of its own--- one that even I can't control. Since this is a safe, judgement-free zone, I figured I'd go ahead and welcome you all into the kooky, and sometimes deranged abyss that is my mind. 

• Sometimes I imagine myself talking to Ben Franklin. Why? Because he was one of the greatest thinkers/inventors of his time, that's why! Whenever some new technology comes out I imagine myself blasting Ben from the past to the present and showing it off to him. I picture myself showing him the new iPhone 4s, or bringing him along to a 3D movie and delight in how fascinated he would be with our modern world. In my past imaginings we have ridden roller coasters, elevators, airplanes and used the self-checkout machine at Wal- Mart, and each time he is so culture shocked and I take a kind of twisted pleasure in his disorientation.

• I've  thought about how I would have fun confusing my baby if I had a twin. Once he is born I never let him see my twin and me together in the same room.  Then, one day, both of us would present ourselves to him and see how much he freaks out. My friend pointed out that this could be slightly traumatic, but I mean, only slightly, right?

• I dream of living in London one day while I'm young, but since I'm still in the U.S. of A., the best I can do is practice my fake British accent in preparation for my long awaited move to England. Sometimes I have conversations with myself in a British accent to practice. I think about how cool it would be if I could perfect it, use it at a  part-time job as a waitress, and rake in the bountiful tips that rain in as I seduce them with my pronunciation of mahshed poh-tah-toes and bread and buttah.

There are tons more, but at the risk of coming across as a complete loon, I'll put a cap on this subject matter  for now=)
