High school is such a blast! but unlike most students my age by the time me and my friends graduate this year we will be close to getting our bachelors degree. I go to this school with a really long name, Mission Early College High School, and I love it! For those of you that have never heard of an early college high school, this is how it works: the general goal is to attend high school and college at the same time in order to finish about six years of school in only four years. At my school, I am not sure how other schools work, but we have generally everything a traditional high schools would have besides sports.
In the past three years I have been asked, do you ever regret going to this school instead of a traditional high school and my answers has never changed: I like going to this school, I am getting a great education, have a lot of close friends and I am getting closer to my goals in life everyday. Now that I have reached my last year there I have heard a lot more comments from my peers such as: I wish I went to that school, or something along those lines.
If it is not too late for you (your in the 8th grade, or get the chance to go to a school like this) I would recommend that you do. Also if you know someone going into high school tell them to look into going to a school like this. In the US there are about 250 schools like this either open already or going to open real soon, look into it.
I love going to Mission Early College HS, even if it has a very long name, and I feel like it has opened a lot of doors for me. In the past not many Latinos went to college but now we got to continue to make a change by going to college.
Think about it! =D
