This is why this is sooo important!

This weekend on their "Graph of the Day," Blog DC Progressive posted a graph titled "Cervical Cancer in Latinas."
The graph showed how Latinas are diagnosed more often for cervical cancer than any other females of any other race. According to this, Latinas fall second to the number of deaths by cervical cancer to Black women.

"One reason this population has higher rates is that nearly 11% of Latina women have never had pap-smear screenings while 5% of whites have never been screened."

This is unacceptable. Many women can either not afford to get screened or are unaware of the necessity for such screening. And despite these numbers and the numbers of other studies I cannot believe that those gynecologists released those numbers I blogged about a few blog entries ago.
What's more--- What happens to these women after they're diagnosed??
Not only does healthcare reform need to happen now, but also reform that is beneficial to all Americans, including all minorities. Women are being left out and ignored when it comes to this.
