Trip to Dell

Today at Media Arts camp we took a field trp to Dell. It was really fun!!! I learned a lot about social media and got to eat lunch wih two proffesionals there.

Social Media is:

-An internet tool that helps people communicate

-Words,photos,audio,opinions, information

-Connects people

-spreads news and trends

The two mentors I had were Jessica and Rosalba. They were really interesting. Jessica told me how her life had been impacted by social media like facebook and LinkedIn. Rosalba told me all about her career and how she got to Dell. She didn't go to college right after high school, she got married and had two daughters. Then when she moved to Austin she became an accountant and from there she came to work at Dell. Because of Dell she's gotten to travel all over the world. Europe, Asia, even South America! One thing that sh told me was that most people in other countries know two or three languages, unlike the U.S where most people only speak English. I thought that was really cool. :)
