VIVA! EL PASO celebrates its 35th anniversary this summer in the McKelligon Canyon Amphitheatre. Since 1978, VIVA! El Paso has been a summer El Paso tradition for the whole family to enjoy. A locally produced outdoor musical extravaganza, each VIVA! performance chronicles the 400 year history and cultural evolution of the El Paso region. VIVA! El Paso honors the Native American, Spanish, Mexican, and Western American cultures that have influenced El Paso with a lively musical drama that incorporates many styles of song and dance.
El Paso’s summer tradition will continue at the McKelligon Canyon Amphitheater (1500 McKelligon Canyon Dr.) for 22 performances from June 15 to August 12, 2012 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:30 pm. There will be four Sunday shows on July 8, July 29, August 5, and August 12. Sunday shows start at 7:30 pm.
VIVA! El Paso will host special performances and ticket prices on:
June 15 and 16: Tickets bought on opening weekend at the Canyon Box Office will receive a $5 discount if a new article of clothing is donated for a newborn to 14 year old. Clothing will benefit the Child Crisis Center of El Paso.
June 22: Kids Camp participants will showcase their skills in this performance; Buy an adult ticket at regular price, get a child's ticket FREE!
July 7: Alumni performance- showcasing alumni who have called VIVA! their home.
July 21: Celebrity night – showcasing El Paso’s local celebrities.
July 29: Brand new all Spanish presentation of the show!
Tickets may be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com, Ticketmaster Box Offices, Plaza Theatre Box Office, and Canyon Box Office. Canyon Box Office opens three hours before each performance.
