Why do Latinas make strong leaders?

Latinas make strong leaders because of their perseverance. I've seen this from my personal experience, and from other Latina family members and friends. We don't let anyone put us down, because we know we have the power to make a great impact. I have noticed throughout my career that I'm not the type of person who gives up. I like to take things to the next level, and prove to myself that I can accomplish what I didn't think was possible. Even if it's not successful, at least I tried. That's what makes us grow up anyway.

Right now, for example, I just graduated from college in June and am balancing a full-time fellowship with two side internships. It's tough and rewarding, and I am learning to balance everything because I know it's possible. I also feel that once we have an ambition, we do everything we can to get to that point. We don't know when that dream career will happen, but we trust ourselves in making it happen. Latina leaders feel they have a purpose, and want to succeed in whatever their passion is.

I can't speak for all Latinas, but I like to think that we all have the ability to look at things in a different perspective. We enjoy contributing ideas, and being part of a team. We have a strong attitude, with various qualities that makes us each unique. We also have a certain "spunk" I'd like to say, because we not only believe in various causes, but we do everything we can to make something a possibility. And that's the most important thing our world needs right now- people that don't just sit on a couch waiting for something to happen, but actually go out and make it a reality without being put down.
