Latinas make strong leaders because it's in our blood. We are the neck, shoulders and spine of our family and we strive to become an effective part of our loved one's lives. Although we have our weaknesses, there have been many prime examples of great Latina leaders in our past and present.
Michelle Bachelete is the former president of Chile and is head of UN Women. She was a successful leader of her country and a very strong speaker.
Another Latina Leader is the President of Argentina, Christina Fernandez de Kirchner. She is the first elected female president and has done so much for Argentinian women during her time in office.
Moving to closer leaders here in the US, Sonia Sotomayor is an Associate Justice of the supreme court, and the first ever Hispanic female Justice. With her persistence throughout her political career, Sotomayor was able to become one of our top political leaders in the United States.
These are only a few of our Latina leaders around the world, and we see other strong Hispanic women everyday. Who else can you think of is as strong as everyone else?
