We continue with our women history month celebration activities and have our girls to write some advices they will give to other girls and and why they are proud of being Latinas. This is one of our girls said:
"My advice will be to just follow your dream and never let go of it. And always be respectful and nice to others. I am proud of being Latina because you always have a lot of creativity, and my culture always teach you a lot of stuff like food."
Maria Cazares, 14 years old
We also presented to her many other powerful Latinas that has important roles in our history and society today like Eva Peron, Rigoberta Menchu, Ellen Lauri Ochoa, Selena Quintanilla-Perez, Hilda Solis, Sonia Sotomayor, Michelle Bachelet, Carolina Herrera, Columba Bush, and Monica Lozano. We teach them about them and they had to pick one of them and say why the like her. They picked Selena Quintanilla-Perez and said that they like her because she was in important person in women and Latinas history, they admire her and like her music.
