Worldwide Wealth

Well, this works for me! Considering my short attention span, this message targets its point across pretty efficient.

Do you ever stop and wander what it's like having to save money to buy a pair of shoes? Most people I know save money to buy brand-name items, a car, or simply waste their money on going out to eat. We always worry about materialistic objects that buy us happiness for a small amount of time. So imagine an item that causes happiness to a person with short attention span. Yeah, not a very good combination. It seems as though we spent our money on having a good time, but eventually when the time hits midnight and the sun rises again, we are on a mission to discover the next best thing that will make us happy. Do you ever wonder if its because of these cravings for materialistic items that we pursue the American dream? Traditionally the American dream is the pursuit of life, liberty, and justice-- right? You would think that it's about finding a stable lifestyle where providing for a family was good enough.  Oh no, but it doesn't just stop there. We use our liberty to fight for a dream life and claim justice every step of the way when we don't reward ourselves enough. As an ambitous society we are often desiring to work harder to play harder and it is a never ending cycle. Do you really believe society is prepared to merge into the next social class once we obtain the money necessary to upgrade? People go crazy with money ya know!

Which brings me to my next point-- I find a certain serenity watching videos on different cultures of the world. Places that have been unfortunate yet are still vacant with individuals who have mastered the idea of "make the best of it." Like this one!

I love photography and recent years I have made a goal to myself to travel to South Africa to experience the life they have over there. In human nature it seems as though we cannot avoid worrying about things we don't have. So instead of worrying about conquering those materialistic items that won't last very long, I'd rather worry about finding a way to bathe myself, cook, and basically accomplish basic survival skills on a daily-basis. To remind me of the lessons life has taught me, I shall have my photographs. The images I collect are capable of taking me back in time to remind me of where I stood at a certain point in life. Sometimes I hold on to these photographs because they're worth so much more than money, I guess because they are like a time traveling machine with the power to even revive emotions. Wait, but then does this this mean I'll forever be stuck in the same row of rocks as it is described on the top video?!  What do you think? Would you rather pursue financial happiness and jump on to the next row of rocks?
